Below is a copy of some of our general rules, other more specific policies appear on the relevant pages of this website, eg: UNIFORMS, COMPETITIONS etc. |

TERM DATES AND HOLIDAYS Starz Centre follows public school structure for school terms and holidays. Public holidays do not usually affect normal lessons as well as pupil-free days, but there will be no lessons on the Saturday or Monday of the Easter weekend if these dates are during the dance term. TIMETABLE Our timetables remain the same until exams are over, once preparations for the concert start slight changes can be made to the timetable. Copies of our timetable are available at reception. CORRECTIONS & BEHAVIOUR Students are expected to behave in class and listen to the teacher at all times. Teachers will verbally discipline students if necessary, and if a student becomes disruptive, he or she will be asked to leave the class. Please also note that there will be times when the teachers may employ hands-on adjusting corrections to the students. CLASS OBSERVATION No-one is permitted to stay in the studio during lessons (pre-school classes excepted until settled), blinds remain closed for all classes. Parents may remain on the premises but siblings must be controlled both in the studio area and the breezeway, please also refrain from bringing skateboards, bikes etc for siblings to use in the breezeway as there are other tenants in our building and it is very annoying for them to have children riding/skating past! ATTENDANCE Attendance is taken at each class and recognition is given at the end of the year for perfect attendance. Students are expected to attend all classes as absences inhibit progress. Students should be ready for class at designated time. We understand that being late is sometimes unavoidable, however, a pupil who is more than 10 minutes late for class may be asked by the teacher to observe rather than take class. This is not a disciplinary measure, but it is done with the student's best interests in mind. A student who misses the beginning exercises runs the risk of injury by not being properly warmed up. Please make sure the student understands this . MINIMUM CLASS SIZES In the event of a class dropping below the minimum class size of 3 students, we reserve the right to cancel the class and recommend students to another class where appropriate. COMPLAINTS & DIFFICULTIES Any complaints and/or difficulties can, generally, easily be resolved. If you have any problems please feel free to contact Miss Jaime by either making an appointment to see her outside of class time or by leaving a message on the studio answering machine so I can call back at a convenient time. Please do not call me at home unless it is an emergency . PRIVATE LESSONS These are to be booked at the front desk in the private lesson diary. Fees are payable at the time of the lesson to the teacher. Students are to be warmed-up prior to the commencement of the lesson. Private lessons can also be booked to work on syllabus work closer to exam dates.
